A Bumper Crop in the Making
This year’s hot, dry summer has posed real challenges for many farmers across the region—but our vines have thrived. Thanks to their deep roots, which reach down to find moisture where other crops cannot, the vineyard has flourished. We’re predicting a yield of 40–50 tonnes for 2025—up from 30 tonnes last year. A remarkable season is underway.
A Haven for Nature
Amidst the parched countryside this summer, the green heart of Kingsthorne has been alive with wildlife. Our vines have become a sanctuary, attracting hares, rabbits, deer, and a flurry of nesting chaffinches and goldfinches. It’s a joy to see nature thriving alongside our vines.
Vineyard Jobs This Week: Bunch Thinning
Out in the vines this week, we’ll be bunch thinning—a key task to ensure the grapes destined for our still Chardonnay and red wines reach optimum ripeness. Fewer bunches mean more flavour, and it’s one of the secrets behind the richness of our small-batch still wines.
Medal Tables Are In!
Meanwhile, back in the office… the full extent of our competition success has been revealed. We’re thrilled with the number of medals our wines have picked up this year, with wins in all of the five competitions we entered. The results couldn’t have come at a better time, giving us the perfect high on which to launch something new…

Flaxley Fête – Sunshine, Smiles & Community Spirit
Once again, we were delighted to host the annual Flaxley Fête, welcoming our neighbours from Flaxley, Pope’s Hill and beyond. After a nervy week of rain warnings, the sun shone bright and the day was a great success. Over £2,000 was raised for the Friends of Flaxley Church and Flaxley Schoolroom. Kingsthorne staff (and their families!) manned the bar and tractor rides—and a good time was had by all.
