REFURBISHING

Flaxley Estate

The painstaking refurbishment of Flaxley’s farm buildings truly is a labour of love. Working closely with conservation specialists and archeologists since 2020, we are now in the final stages of planning and obtaining approval of these renovations. The project cannot start soon enough!  With many of the buildings falling into disrepair, we are keen to preserve and use this unique piece of local history.

REFURBISHING

The Winery

The 250 tonne capacity winery building will house modern stainless steel tanks; oak foudres and racks of oak barriques to give our young wine ferments the perfect environment for flavour development and maturation.  Modern presses, pumps and filters will blend with traditional methods and experience, to nurture the very best from our carefully harvested grapes.  Our winemaker is known for innovation and experimentation, so limited edition wines will become available too.  We will also offer a limited amount of contract winemaking space for vineyard owners looking to make their own wine.

The remit is simple both in the vineyard and winery – to make the very best English wines.

The winery will be open to visitors by joining a winery tour.  Details will follow.

The restaurant

Great wine needs great food.  With help from skilled chefs, we plan to deliver a fantastic menu to you, using meat from our estate and produce from our very own kitchen gardens wherever possible.  The concept will be great quality food, sourced close to home.
