Awarded the Trophy for best Still White Wine at the 2024 Wine GB West Competition.
Our Chardonnay vines are in our cosiest block in our Flaxley vineyards to ensure they gain good ripeness. We’re unlikely to be able make a still Chardonnay every year, but when we get high ripeness levels we will pick the best for our still wine. 2023 gave us a small, but perfectly formed crop, that was just right for a more delicate, elegant white wine style.
Aromas of apple, lime flower and a touch of vanilla from fermentation in large oak foudre, lees stirring and further maturation in barrel. On the palate this combines with a crisp citrus acidity to yield a mouthwatering zingy finish.
A perfect accompaniment to white fish; creamy risottos and goat’s cheese.
