Solaris is a relatively new grape variety, developed from German breeding programs in the 1970s and commercialised in the late 1990s. It is generally grown across cooler European countries that benefit from its early ripening.
Picked on the 19 September 2024 from our Flaxley Vineyard, the grapes were some of the best of the 2024 vintage, with a natural potential alcohol level of 13.5%. Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks lead to a wine delivering delicious honeysuckle, peach and pear aromas. Tropical fruits come through on the palate with a silky mouthfeel and balancing citrus acidity.
Enjoy a chilled glass with asparagus dishes; grilled fish or lightly spiced Asian dishes.

Very early ripening white wine variety, used here for still wines, but can be left to get a late harvest style dessert wine in warm years.
